Research work
The central theme of my research is the artistic glassmaking of Russia: its history, its masters, its past achievements and current trends.
The range of subjects is wide: from stained glass in Russian Orthodox churches to glass in the pavilions of VDNKh, from the altarpiece of St Isaac’s Cathedral to the Crystal Fountain of 1939. My interests also include the attribution, restoration and re-creation of historic stained glass, along with methods for its inventory and state protection. I regularly present papers at academic and practice-oriented conferences, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and lecture at museums and public venues.
