Working with texts

I help authors make their texts precise, well-structured and expressive — from a formal review to in-depth work on a manuscript.

A good text is born twice: first with the author, then in collaboration with an editor. For many years I have been writing and editing myself: academic articles, books, catalogues, albums and journalism. This dual experience — as researcher and writer — allows me to see a text through the eyes of both a rigorous reviewer and a reliable ally of the author: to spot gaps in logic, inconsistencies of meaning and factual inaccuracies, while carefully preserving your unique authorial voice.

What I offer authors

Reviewing and academic assessments — a professional analysis of an article, book or manuscript: strengths and weaknesses, specific recommendations for revision, and the preparation of formal reviews for publication and thesis defence.
Substantive and stylistic editing — work on the logic and precision of wording, removal of repetition and long-windedness, checking of terminology and facts.
Bringing texts to a consistent style — assembling and aligning texts written at different times or by different authors (for example, for collective monographs, catalogues and albums). Consistent vocabulary, a sustained tone and careful handling of references, quotations and scholarly apparatus.
Enhancing expressiveness — work on the structure, rhythm and intonation of a text, so that even complex material reads easily and with pleasure.
Project support — helping the author from first idea to final manuscript: developing the structure, drawing up a plan, regular discussions and consultations.

An editor is needed not by a weak text but by a strong one — so that it can sound at full power.

The work is carried out in Russian, with parallel versions in other languages where required.
